description This interview recognizes the academic and research contributions of Professor María Eugenia Morales in the context of her professional development at the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia. Thus, a biographical and anecdotal journey is made through a dialogue on aspects that delimited her interests, which allowed her to identify the herbarium as a fundamental research field in her career. This space is for her a life project that involves her passion, her dedication and her commitment to preserve and systematize especially the flora of the Eastern Cordillera, with which she seeks to consolidate it as a cultural and scientific heritage at the service of research in the area of biological sciences at national and international level. Finally, the work of the teacher-trainer for research and its impact in radiating the commitment in the theoretical and experimental development of botany is highlighted.

Así, se hace un recorrido biográfico y anecdótico a través de un diálogo sobre aspectos que delimitaron sus intereses, los cuales permitieron identificar el herbario como campo investigativo fundamental en su trayectoria. Dicho espacio es para ella un proyecto de vida que envuelve su pasión, su entrega y su compromiso en favor de preservar y sistematizar especialmente la flora de la cordillera Oriental, con lo cual busca consolidarla como patrimonio cultural y científico al servicio de investigaciones en el área de las ciencias biológicas a nivel nacional e internacional. Finalmente, se resalta la labor del maestro formador para la investigación y su impacto en irradiar el compromiso en el desarrollo teórico y experimental de la botánica.Esta entrevista reconhece as contribuições acadêmicas e de pesquisa da professora María Eugenia Morales no contexto de seu desenvolvimento profissional na Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia. Assim, uma viagem biográfica e anedótica é feita através de um diálogo sobre aspectos que delimitaram seus interesses, o que lhe permitiu identificar o herbário como um campo fundamental de pesquisa em sua carreira. Este espaço é para ela um projeto de vida que envolve sua paixão, sua dedicação e seu compromisso de preservar e sistematizar especialmente a flora da Cordilheira do Leste, com a qual ela procura consolidá-la como patrimônio cultural e científico a serviço da pesquisa na área das ciências biológicas a nível nacional e internacional.
