It is to show that the application of the free model of education in those educational centers let the population, in general, have access to the higher education. El artículo es resultado de una  investigación sobre  la extensión universitaria y las universidades populares, vistas como modelos alternativos de educación a principios del Siglo XX en Europa y América. El trabajo se centra en  la Universidad PopularMexicana, cuyo modelo educativo se pretende examinar, reconstruir y comparar con los de instituciones similares de la época.
