Understanding the geological evolution of northwestern South America during the Late Miocene is of significant importance for elucidating the impact of Andean tectonics and the reorganization of the Eastern Equatorial Pacific (EEP) on tropical ecosystems. This study presents a multiproxy approach for the paleoenvironmental analysis of the Tortonian succession recorded by the ANH-Tumaco-1-ST-P well, drilled in the southwestern sector of the Tumaco Basin (Colombian Pacific). By integrating sedimentological data and the distribution of benthic foraminifera associations through quantitative analyses of abundance, composition, diversity, microhabitat preferences, oxygenation estimates, and multivariate statistics, a depositional environment and the predominant seafloor conditions are proposed. The results reveal the development of a deep-marine mixed/hybrid system on the continental slope, redefining previous models that suggested shelf or deltaic environments. The sedimentary record is characterized by a repeated alternation of deposits interpreted as fine-grained contourites, medium-to-fine-grained turbidites, hybrid deposits, and organized hemipelagites. This suggests a paleoenvironment controlled by episodic sediment transfer by gravity flows, the persistent and energetically variable activity of bottom/contour currents that reworked and redistributed fine material, and hemipelagic sedimentation or in situ biogenic production during low-energy phases. The ichnological record, consisting of 17 ichnogenera, represents feeding, grazing, and dwelling strategies. Simultaneously, benthic foraminifera associations confirm a bathyal paleodepth, with the development of communities of low-to-moderate diversity dominated by hyaline taxa with dominant infaunal preferences and subordinate incursions of epifaunal forms. Micropaleontological and ichnological patterns indicate that cyclic variations in redox conditions and hydrodynamic energy modulated the habitability of the seafloor and the interstitial environment. Transport mechanisms likely induced relative oxygen injection and the distribution of particulate organic matter, creating "favorable" or "unfavorable" scenarios for the coexistence of oxyphilic taxa and environmental stress indicators.
