Description
Summary:This research study focuses on analyzing the factors of the school environment that affect the academic performance of third grade elementary school students at the Santa María de Sabanagrande educational center. The research is based on the mixed method, based on the rationalist-deductive epistemological approach. The sample object of study is contemplated by the 14 third grade students. The instruments that allowed the collection of information were direct non-participant observation, the survey aimed at students and the interview for third grade teachers, in order to find in the results the relationship of the two variables addressed, the school environment. and academic performance. The results indicate that the students feel comfortable with the climate, the methodology used by the teacher, and relationships with their peers. In conclusion, a school environment, characterized by a good physical space, respect for the rules of coexistence, an adequate setting, and the demonstration of affections and values, positively influences the academic performance of students, since it fosters a adequate provision for the acquisition and development of learning and skills.
