A new file format for binarized images

In this paper we present a new lossless file format specialized in binarized images. The proposed algorithm creates files smaller in average than standard lossless formats. We propose a modification to the algorithm which allows it to be used in every type of images, not only the binarized ones. We...

Description
Summary:In this paper we present a new lossless file format specialized in binarized images. The proposed algorithm creates files smaller in average than standard lossless formats. We propose a modification to the algorithm which allows it to be used in every type of images, not only the binarized ones. We compare the file sizes with the PNG format. In order to encourage the use and compatibility with the most common image libraries, we provided the implementation details and the idea behind the algorithm.
