Description
Summary:The objective of the following research, quantitative approach and quasi-experimental design is to determine the effect of the Singapore method in attitudes towards learning mathematics students in fifth grade basic; for this research worked with a network consisting of 119 students of both sexes, aged between 9 and 11 years located in the north central town shows - historic city of Barranquilla, one of which implements the Singapore method for teaching mathematics . For data collection an instrument designed by Inmaculada Alemanny (2010) from Spain, which it was validated context. The results yielded no significant difference between the mean percentages for each component evaluated so the effect of the method becomes meaningful to the extent that gradually develop because of entrenched attitudes that focus on students, but it should be noted that there is a trend the improvement of these at the institution where the method which will be reflected in improving their academic performance is applied.
