| Summary: | The study analyzes the impact of macroeconomic and productive factors on the competitiveness of Peruvian coffee exports to the German market during the period 2007– 2024. Through a multiple linear regression model, it seeks to evaluate the behavior of the Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA) index based on the effects of variables such as exchange rate, export volume and value, national production, and GDP per capita for both Peru and Germany. Additionally, positioning and efficiency indexes are described to jointly analyze the insertion and performance of Peruvian coffee in the international context. The results identify key determinants of positioning and export efficiency, providing strategic guidelines to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of the Peruvian coffee sector amid global dynamics and market diversification. The study highlights internal challenges faced by the Peruvian coffee production sector, such as plantation aging, low productivity, and pest incidence, as well as external challenges like competition from major exporters and international market preferences. The research found limitations by focusing the analysis on the general coffee tariff heading, opening possibilities for further studies on tariff subheadings of the product under study, especially organic coffee. |
