Being a Reserve declared by UNESCO, it is important to look for strategies that help preserve biodiversity and that can mitigate these RCD that have nowhere to stop.En Colombia se tiene un problema de contaminación generado por los residuos de construcción y demolición (RCD) y más en el departamento de San Andrés, conocido por ser parte de la Reserva Biosfera Seaflower, que no cuenta con puntos autorizados para la recolección de estos generando que lleguen a parar a sitios públicos como sus playas, calles y andenes, dando como resultado así una contaminación visual y a la biodiversidad de su departamento.
