Description
Summary:The present work is a technical study of the method used to manage the relative permeability data since it is received from the laboratory until it is used in the reservoir simulator. Initially a review of the concepts related to relative permeability is made, then it is studied how the experimental conditions affect the result of the tests and criteria of validation of relative permeability curves obtained experimentally are proposed. The criteria mentioned above are applied to relative permeability data from three fields in the middle Magdalena Valley basin. Curves that do not meet these criteria are discarded and the curves that are maintained are considered valid and representative of the reservoir behavior. Subsequently, from workshops with experts in different simulators, the considerations that should be taken at the level of simulation with the relative permeability data are discussed, in addition, the aspects to be taken into account in the process of loading relative permeability data in the simulators. Similarly, the lessons learned are discussed and some recommendations made by the experts are presented.
