Hospital Materno Infantil "Esperanza de vida" “Plan parcial núcleo de desarrollo logístico Guanentá San Gil al 2050”

This document presents the construction’s proposal of the Maternity and Children’s Hospital "Esperanza de Vida" in the province of Guanentá, located at the department of Santander, Colombia. This project has the purpose of implementing the partial plan of the nucleus of logistic development in this province. The viability of this project resides in the identification of the need to improve the access to health in this region, due to the crisis that passes through the General System of Social Security in Health of the country is accentuated in there, giving as a result high mortality rates. In addition, there are high birth rates, which indicates that the implementation of a maternity and children’s hospital in the region would improve access to health and increase the well-being and quality of life in Guanentá. For this purpose, the architectural proposal of two maternity and children’s hospitals in Spain and a children's hospital in England is recovered. The conceptual and normative context, in which this proposal is implemented, and the characteristics of the region are identified.
