Description
Summary:Technical efficiency has been used extensively to evaluate productivity in agricultural production. At the same time, under a systemic-ecological sustainable development approach, it has been proposed to identify the factors that can be decisive in achieving productive systems that are friendly to the environment. In this search, technical efficiency analyzes with an orientation to reducing the use of inputs take on special importance, since they allow us to establish which practices lead some producers to be more efficient than their peers, which is complemented by the application of regression models to find the endogenous and exogenous factors that influence the amount of inputs used by producers. Thus, variables can be analyzed that range from the environmental and eco-systemic suitability of a territory, to the socio-economic characteristics of the producers.
