Description
Summary:Generally, conventional deposits are made up of an oil system with a source or source rock, a storage or reservoir rock and a seal rock, which favor hydrocarbon generation, storage and entrapment processes. Additionally, as a result of permeabilities and favorable porosities or naturally fractured reservoirs, these systems allow the flow of fluids and their extraction through traditional techniques. On many occasions, nature does not fracture the so-called generating rocks and prevents the migration of hydrocarbons to the reservoir rock, leaving large volumes of hydrocarbons stored inside them in conditions of low permeability and porosity that hinder the flow of fluids, as well as their extraction. These are characteristics of the so-called generating rock reservoirs or Non-Conventional YNC Reservoirs, which require the generation of microfractures through the pumping of a hydraulic fluid, which opens small channels that facilitate the flow and extraction of fluids stored millions of years ago. This technique is commonly known as hydraulic fracturing or multi-stage hydraulic stimulation.
