To do this, a simulation model was developed in the FlexSim software after characterizing the system parameters. After analyzing results, the experiments show that, facing a higher demand, the resources offered by the library will be overused . Also increasing up to four times the number of system withdrawals.Los servicios bibliotecarios representan uno de los principales productos que oferta una institución educativa. Estos servicios buscan facilitar recursos a los usuarios para el acceso a la información. En este artículo se presenta el caso de una biblioteca de capacidad fija que afronta cada periodo académico un número creciente de usuarios. El objetivo de la investigación fue identificar procesos críticos para generar estrategias orientadas hacia la mejora del servicio. Para ello, fue elaborado un modelo de simulación en el software FlexSim luego de caracterizar los parámetros del sistema.
