| Summary: | This work addresses the complex challenge of natural gas supply in Colombia, which projects a future supply deficit in the next ten years due to the decline of gas fields in the country. This situation emphasizes the pressing need to strengthen the supply of this energy resource and ensure the long-term sustainability of the sector. The study is based on reliable data from sources such as the Ministry of Mines and Energy and UPME, and focuses on examining the growth of the industrial sector. The challenges faced in non-interconnected areas are explored and the importance of biodigesters as a sustainable alternative to address the natural gas deficit is highlighted. The structure of the thesis is organized into three chapters that delve into the market analysis, the exploration of biodigesters and the evaluation of the financial viability of these projects, with the purpose of demonstrating Colombia's potential in the field of energy development. |
