Summary: | In this project, an evaluation is carried out for the production of biofuels from urban solid waste in Colombia. To do this, in the first place, the sources of solid waste in the country are recognized, in addition to their classification and current treatment. Subsequently, we proceed to identify the components that can be used and that present a transformation when carrying out a thermal recovery process. In addition to this, the thermal utilization method to be studied is selected. For the technical analysis of the use of urban solid waste and its conversion into biofuel, the different operating parameters are established and the analysis of the equipment to be used is carried out. Subsequently, the stages of the process are determined and the type of reactor to be used is selected, this being the main equipment in the process. Finally, both the mass and energy balance are developed and the information is synthesized in the flow diagram of the PFD process. |
