Description
Summary:The present work unfolds the development of a management engineering model for recovery methods improved from the comparison between two fields with similar characteristics. During this process the properties of the deposit and their respective geological characteristics are taken into account in order to find similarities between the two fields and to recommend improved recovery techniques for the field where they have not yet been implemented. The comparison will be made between Campo Castilla (Colombia) and Campo Kern River (United States). The first is operated by Ecopetrol S.A and the second by Chevron. In both cases the geological context and production history will be described. In addition, it describes the main basic concepts of the improved recovery, the variables that influence its performance, and the historical evolution of both fields.
