Description
Summary:In the present project, the degradation of hydrogen sulfide in gas phase was carried out through the use of ilmenite semiconductor. Paraficar this was carried out a comparison of films of the human hand modified and unmodified, the result of this test that has a greater photocatalytic activity ilmenite without any modification with a percentage of removal of 85.57% in radiation UV and 79.83% in visible radiation. Subsequently, the mineral was supported in acetate, steel, vinyl, granite cloth and wood where the cloth did not show a good adhesion result, then it was adapted to the photocatalytic device of the corrosion chamber of the research group. Photoactive materials and was added to a fan. 12 V within it, to track the degradation of H2S online. Finally, the percentage of H2S degradation was quantified with each material and it was concluded that the most suitable for the process of heterogeneous photocatalysis is the wood that obtained a removal of 96.16%, this material was chosen through of a selection matrix in which the photocatalytic activity, adherence, uniformity, price and accessibility were taken into account.
