Description
Summary:This research process presents the incorporation of a design and modeling of a wastewater treatment plant from an events center located on the outskirts of Bogotá D.C. In general terms, a diagnosis of the quality of the outlet water was carried out, exceeding the permissible limits in chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total suspended solids (TSS), taking into consideration the provisions of resolution 0631 of 2015 for discharges into bodies. water. Starting from this premise, the design was generated, which starts from a pretreatment using a grid system, a primary treatment that is based on a sedimentation mechanism, moving on to a secondary mechanism based on an activated sludge system and finally arriving to the elimination of pathogenic components through chlorination. The aforementioned helped provide a reduction of 48% and 56% with respect to COD and TSS, respectively, after simulating the process through the use of the specialized STOAT software.
