Summary: | A fire tube boiler is a type of boiler used to generate large quantities of steam by transferring heat from the combustion process through tubes immersed in water. Its design is characterized by having fire tubes (smoke tubes where the combustion gas passes) arranged inside the combustion chamber. This type of boiler can use different types of fuel such as natural gas, diesel, biomass, coal, among others. In the case of the fire tube boiler located at the CEPIIS (Center of Processes and Innovation for the Sustainable Industry), it uses Diesel, this being the most common in this type of machinery, but it is also one of the ones that generates the most pollution. that it is necessary to look for new options for liquid fuels that can effectively replace or mix Diesel without directly affecting the operation of the boiler and thus reduce the pollution generated by the machine. |
