Description
Summary:The main objective of the following research work was to assess the feasibility of CO2 injection associated with Campo Orito Putumayo, for implementation as an improved recovery method; for which the geology of Campo Orito was presented, which describes the history of the field, location, production history and stratigraphy of the Field. Similarly, aspects of structural geology and oil geology are highlighted. In addition, rock and fluid properties, PVT testing, production mechanisms and recovery methods are described, where carbon dioxide injection is emphasized along with its effects on the recovery factor, the latter premise being the central axis of this research work. Considering the information described, and from the static model representative of Campo Orito developed in the degree work entitled "Evaluation of a water injection model for the maintenance of production in the Villeta formation of Campo Orito", a detailed dynamic model was developed to be simulated in the CMG software, in order to determine the predictive behavior that the reservoir fluids will have when the CO2 injection was implemented.
