The purpose of this study is to perform molecular docking of secondary metabolites present in the genera Vismia spp. (Hypericaceae), Garcinia spp. (Clusiaceae) and Neurolaena spp. (Asteraceae) to the Dipeptidyl Peptidase IV (DPP-IV) protein in order to identify potential drugs against diabetes Melli...

Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to perform molecular docking of secondary metabolites present in the genera Vismia spp. (Hypericaceae), Garcinia spp. (Clusiaceae) and Neurolaena spp. (Asteraceae) to the Dipeptidyl Peptidase IV (DPP-IV) protein in order to identify potential drugs against diabetes Mellitus type 2 and obesity which are diseases with high morbidity worldwide. Therefore, since 2014, the alliance (PRONADIAB) integrated by researchers from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and the Universidad Nacional de Colombia has proposed to search for natural alternatives, based on native plants from Chocó, for the treatment of these diseases.
