Summary:In the following documentary review of the implementation of Environmental Education Strategies based on the study, measurement and recognition of the Carbon Footprint and aimed at high school students of the Secondary Educational Institutions in Cundinamarca. This research can also be implemented in other types of populations and individuals, taking into account their needs and priorities. Within this is a diagnosis on the learning system based on the theme of carbon footprint within educational institutions, analyzing the components of the Carbon Footprint from its origin, development and mitigation in Environmental Education and defining aspects in terms of the measurement, reduction and compensation of the Carbon Footprint. All this from a qualitative methodological framework, looking for results not only from theory, but also, researching the population selected for the study.
