Summary: | In the present work of degree a proposal of the improvement of a system of treatments of industrial waste waters in the company Wellquem de Colombia SAS was developed. Initially, a previous bibliography review of the different treatments that could be applied depending on the activity of the company was made, the diagnosis of the system that had already been implemented in the company was made and the deficiencies of the design and assembly that had installed, the operation of the equipment involved in the process was verified to be able to be reused within the improvement of the STAR. On the other hand, a characterization was made of the water that results from the washing of the production equipment and the one used in the company's quality laboratory, identifying its main contaminants that do not meet the standard established by resolution 631 of 2015, according to the results it was found that it does not meet the criteria of BOD, COD and Fats and Oils. Based on the previous information on the characterization of the water and on the parameters not met, an improvement alternative was formulated which consists in changing the current chemical treatment, particularly the coagulant and flocculant for the clarification stage by means of jar tests, where the quantity of the reactants is varied, obtaining as a result 75% of removal being the highest efficiency of coagulant using as Aluminum Hydroxychloride and flocculant the ALW250 equivalent to a destabilizing polymer that acts as coagulant and flocculant with less corrosive characteristics and a high molecular weight. |
