Description
Summary:This document presents as its main objective, to carry out a review of the sustainable agricultural practice of green harvesting for the reduction of the burning of sugarcane in the department of Valle del Cauca and how these practices contribute to sustainability. This is because not only in the department of Vallecaucano, but also in different regions of the country, the burning of sugarcane for harvesting continues without taking into account the environmental impact that this practice causes. Likewise, the effects caused by the traditional practice of burning sugar cane on the three fundamental pillars of sustainability, environmental, social and economic, will be identified. In addition, the potential of green harvesting will be formulated as a sustainable production strategy and as a possible alternative to reduce the environmental impacts caused by the cane industry in the department.
