Description
Summary:This document assesses the trend of biomaterials proposed in research articles as alternatives to replace plastic as this is one of the most important materials in the food packaging industry, in addition, the use of nano materials is mentioned where Basically, different biopolymers are combined to improve their mechanical properties. An analysis is also used for Colombian companies producing plastics for food in order to identify their environmental policies, supporting research and development into new biodegradable materials. In addition, the norms, resolutions and decrees corresponding to biodegradable materials and taxes for use or recycling of these are identified as benefits from the Colombian government for companies that decide to implement these green policies to help mitigate the environmental impacts that plastics cause since their final disposal is difficult due to contamination by organic matter.
