| Summary: | The objective of the project was the use of natural dyes extracted from achiote (Bixa Orellana) and paprika (Capsicum Anuum), as pigments in the wooden toy paints industry. To meet this objective, the methods of extraction of each of the dyes were first chosen based on the parameters established in the collected literature, taking as an acceptance criterion the extraction that would provide greater coloration and yield, thanks to the statistical comparison analysis in pairs (REGWQ) and the statistical software XLSTAT, then the main characteristic that a pigment must have to be added to the paints (wettability) was evaluated, thus selecting the achiote pigment since it was the one that possessed such characteristic. |
