Summary:The accelerated expansion in Colombian cities in recent years has produced important problems one of the biggest is socio-spatial segregation; this problem is found in large metropolitan areas such as Bogotá, where the development of new informal settlements due to displacement or high economic rent in housing, have made people with limited resources take the initiative to create their own homes with resources at their fingertips, creating an urban fabric in a haphazard way and absorbing rural land for their settlements.
