In such a way that research and development of orthopedic prostheses is promoted in an architectural project at a metropolitan scale that, equipped with the technical and spatial facilities suitable for scientific development, allows the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and favors experimentation, development and marketing of prosthesis of national invoice. In addition, it integrates the community through social extension activities that give the project a permeable character with the public space and strengthens its relationship with the context.Inscrito en el desarrollo del plan parcial, MIMESIS URBANA, cuyo enfoque deportivo evidencia la necesidad de implementar equipamientos institucionales que complementen la actividad deportiva, el proyecto tiene como tema de desarrollo la investigación y producción en ingeniería biomédica, asumiendo como usuario principal deportistas y personas con discapacidades físicas, que dentro de las realidades políticas de nuestro país tengan la posibilidad de encontrar soluciones asequibles que les permitan tratar sus condiciones de discapacidad y mejorar su calidad de vida. De tal manera que se promueva la investigación y el desarrollo de prótesis ortopédicas en un proyecto arquitectónico a escala metropolitana que, dotado con las instalaciones técnicas y espaciales adecuadas para el desarrollo científico, permite la implementación de tecnologías de vanguardia, y favorece la experimentación, desarrollo y comercialización de prótesis de factura nacional.
