Description
Summary:For the following degree work, the main objective was to develop a wastewater treatment system generated during the production process of palm oil extraction in the CI SIGRA S.A. at a conceptual level, to comply with the current regulations for the maximum permissible limit values in point discharges to bodies of surface water presented in resolution 631 of 2015. To be able to choose the best wastewater treatment system proposal, we first learned about the characteristics of the water to be treated, since the extraction plant is under construction, there was no real water sample, therefore the characterization of water, the average of 65 extractive plants in Colombia located in different areas of the country was taken as reference; where the main problems are in the concentration of COD, BOD, fats and oils and chlorides. After knowing the state of the water to be treated, the parameters that needed to be treated and a bibliographic review, three alternatives for the treatment were considered. Subsequently, the treatment was selected by means of a selection matrix taking into account the most important aspects for the company and for a better treatment efficiency.
