Description
Summary:The main objective of this research is to design a pressure and temperature controlled coolant evaporation system for the supply of an electric turbine. To this end, firstly, information is collected to characterise evaporation systems using refrigerant fluids; secondly, the different thermal cycles, such as the Carnot cycle, are investigated, the Rankine cycle and the Rankine organic cycle, thermodynamic cycles and their different components; third, different design parameters are proposed for the corresponding conceptual design and mode of operation of the refrigerant evaporation system currently on the market. For the latter, a conceptual design is elaborated that covers all the requirements to concretize the design of the system. It should be mentioned that these requirements have different solutions based on a black box diagram to determine, in this way, its functional mode and its key elements to deduce the flow diagram with which the systems and subsystems of the project are established.
