Summary:In the Lodos and Cementos laboratory, the API filtration practice is performed to analyze properties and behavior of water-based sludge in the respective step-by-step of the general process. The API Press Filter is an instrument that is used to simulate this behavior at the laboratory level to the low pressure-low temperature fluids in the static state used in drilling wells in the ground. The critical variables that determine the filtration process are: duration time, temperature, filtrate volume and pressure. The reliability and veracity of the results are achieved by developing the process with technological advances and designing an instrument with options of visualization and improvement of the filtration. For the measurements and control of the variables, a methodology is developed in which the student performs the same procedure but adding components with technological development, such as: the sensors for each variable and the start and end of the process in an automated way.
