Description
Summary:In the present work, different alternatives of corrosion inhibition in pipes were evaluated, since this problem affects both economic and technical interests. This evaluation was based on the comparison of three different methods. In cathodic protection, sacrificial anodes were studied in general. In the case of paints as coating, they were characterized by two types; one epoxy paint and another one which presents pigments as reinforcement based on phosphates. Finally, it was studied the mortar coating as a coating with and without the inclusion of additives in the mixture. In order to start choosing the best alternative, the raw materials and their most relevant properties were characterized, with the purpose of contextualizing their function in each of the options analyzed. Regarding cathodic protection, the concept of sacrificial anodes was established and three of them (zinc, aluminum and magnesium) were highlighted, having as purpose to choose the most suitable one according to the project's technical specifications. In relation to paints, their main components, function and classification were identified. Finally, the mortar coatings, their uses and dosage were conceptualized.
