Description
Summary:The international standard ISO 45001 for occupational safety and health management systems (OSHMS) has been developed with the purpose of protecting workers from occupational diseases or accidents resulting from the activities they perform. This work aims to make a proposal to improve the OSHMS in the laboratory of CIMA based on the requirements of the NTC-ISO 45001:2018 and to promote safe and healthy workplaces, so as to prevent injuries and deterioration of the health of workers. Initially, the current status of the OSHMS against the international standard was determined, the matrix of hazard identification, hazard assessment and risk assessment was updated and finally, the action plan aimed at improving the OSHMS was established. The completion of this work contributed to guide the improvement and effectiveness of the OSHMS performance, the compliance with legal requirements and the achievement of occupational safety and health (OSH) objectives at CIMA.
