Description
Summary:The gasification is a process thermochemical in which a substrate rich in carbon like the biomass, the coal or the plastic (in this investigation the residual biomass), it is transformed in a fuel gas. For the year 2008, they had 69 gasification plants around the world with 677 gasifiers of which just the 7% uses biomass as raw material. In developing countries, like Colombia, in rural zones, without basic services, or with a high index of poverty, a lot of times the unique resource available is the residual biomass, that is why it is worth it to continue with the objective of generate knowledge of this technologies for their application with residual biomass. In Necoclí, Antioquia, in 2008, through the institute for the planning and promotion of energy solutions for non-interconnected areas and with the help of the National University of Antioquia, a fixed-bed reactor of Hindu manufacture was implemented for the gasification of wood. it reaches the beaches of this territory and that in this area it is considered waste.
