Description
Summary:In this document an investigation is carried out on the evolution that protectionism has had. To make this possible, in the first chapter, the main economic approaches from mercantilism are reviewed, although it is worth noting, the economy begins to be studied in depth from Adam Smith and the Classical School. In addition, it explains the difference between classical protectionism and neoprotectionism. In the second chapter the main events in the crises of the United States, China, the European Union and Colombia are reviewed with respect to the measures they have taken and that have affected international trade until 2015. Meanwhile, in the third chapter, there is a review of the most important events at present, such as Brexit, China's trade agreement with the United States and the historic agreement between the European Union and MERCOSUR. Finally, the respective conclusions were made on the information presented and some recommendations are given for future studies.
