Description
Summary:"This work addresses the design and manufacture of an automated heliodon, a fundamental tool for the study of solar radiation in bioclimatic architecture. Unlike manual heliodons, this automated device allows to accurately simulate the position of the sun at different times of the day and year, which is crucial for optimizing natural lighting and thermal comfort in buildings. The development of the automated heliodon was carried out through a systematic approach that included the definition of the problem, the formulation of clear objectives, the technical design of the device, the construction of the prototype and the implementation of a control system that facilitates its operation. Through exhaustive tests, the effectiveness of the heliodon in representing the solar trajectory was verified, which not only improves the accuracy of the simulations, but also reduces human error associated with manual models. This heliodon becomes an essential ally for architects and urban planners in the search for sustainable and energy-efficient designs, contributing to a better understanding of solar geometry and its application in architectural practice."
