Summary: | The present project was developed along with the research area of the University of America Foundation thanks to the agreement with Ecopetrol S.A. and its synergy with Equion Energía Limited, where information on existing unconventional deposits is compiled, making a complete description of the unconventional shale deposits to provide knowledge and viability in their future development, leaving aside the stigmatization of the massive hydraulic stimulation operations. A comparison was made of the most important properties of shale plays worldwide (Barnett Shale, Eagle Ford Shale, Marcellus Shale and the Vaca Muerta Formation) with the properties of the La Luna Formation of the Valle Medio del Magdalena Basin in order to determine a possible design of the hydraulic fracturing operation and together with this propose some mitigation measures of the environmental impacts generated. |
