Summary:In the present research project the methodological approach for the diagnosis of the drying equipment of the pilot plant acquired by the University of America Foundation was carried out. In this, the main differences in the drying and evaporation processes are exposed, besides identifying some of the equipment used in the industrial level, indicating the main characteristics of these. On the other hand, the importance of the use of the psychrometric chart and the relationship between the properties of the air with the drying processes and the importance of drying curves is manifested. The identification of the characteristics of the equipment was made in the information that was acquired directly from the manufacturer, in order to develop the formats to facilitate the characterization of the equipment. A mathematical model based on the transfer phenomena was exposed, with which it is intended to predict the behavior of the equipment, for which a simulation of it is programmed in Excel, which was validated with the help of a scientific article.
