Description
Summary:As the oil exploitation expands, significant amounts of water are produced, part of it forms emulsions in the crude, favoring the corrosive and contaminating potential of the same by the dragging of salts and other compounds. Due to this, it is essential to establish an adequate crude-oil desalination and dehydration program focused on increasing the efficiency of the process to reduce the risks of accidents with potential damage to the environment, infrastructure and people, due to loss of integrity of the water equipment down. In this way, the present project seeks to generate a proposal to improve the performance of the desalting and dehydration of current crude oil in the refinery, thus favoring the separation of the present phases, keeping the salt and water contents constant and within specifications. The crude product, so a diagnosis of the current state of the process was carried out to establish a starting problem point. Subsequently, and in order to evaluate the effect of the variables of interest on the desalination efficiency, a mathematical model capable of giving repeatability, with a certain level of precision to the real values, was selected, and from this, the optimal conditions were evaluated of work.
