Description
Summary:Public spending as an integral part of managing fiscal efficiency plays a crucial role in territorial social indicators. This study focuses on the importance of understanding and efficiently managing public spending as a key instrument to strengthen local economies. In the Colombian context, regions such as the Amazon and Putumayo have great potential to contribute to the development of the country due to their tourist, ecological and cultural attractions. However, obstacles such as the inefficient use of resources, corruption, lack of investment in infrastructure, low levels of education and health, as well as low national investment, have prevented these regions from achieving a level of social development in line with the needs. of its population. The low quality of services, levels of corruption and deficiencies in public spending place these regions with lower social indicators compared to other regions of the country. This work seeks to analyze the impact of fiscal performance on social indicators for the departments of Amazonas and Putumayo, through a comparative study during the period 2005-2020.
