Summary:This research was carried out in order to provide specific leadership studies to the construction sector, trying to cover the literature of the different types of leadership that have existed over the years until reaching the contemporary leadership that best suits this type of company. Likewise, the characteristics and the predominant organizational scheme were investigated and finally the characteristics that generate value of efficiency and effectiveness were related to the MiPymes of the Colombian construction sector. I believe that this research is timely because the literature on leadership as a management tool in companies is very little, being more limited when it specifically deals with the construction sector; It is for this reason that it was decided to prepare a series of surveys aimed at managers and directors of MiPymes in this sector to find out how they perceive leadership within their companies. From the results of the surveys, it could be inferred that everyone is convinced that leadership is important to obtain good results in their management as managers for which they are very well prepared, but not all see clearly how to focus leadership within their companies in the different departments or positions.
