Description
Summary:The present work seeks the selection of a hydrophobic agent that can be applied to natural stones, whether in muñeca stone, white stone, black marble or brown marble; the technical specifications for its production and the financial analysis of the process. Initially the characteristics of the substrates to which the product was applied were established, then ten (10) possible hydrophobic raw materials that could be applied on the substrate were selected. By means of the weighted factors methodology, three (3) were selected with which the experimental tests were carried out; The selected raw materials (MP) are called MP A, MP B and MP E. Subsequently, the experimental tests were carried out with each of the raw materials, evaluating them at two different concentrations, selecting the maximum and minimum recommended by the supplier for each material. premium, the tests that were carried out were: contact angle, water absorption, Karsten tube, chemical erosion and staining. The previous ones were carried out to determine the hydrophobic agent and the concentration to which it presents a better performance protecting the stone especially from the Water.
