| Summary: | This article is the result of the research and analysis to the cluster of plastics in the city of Bogotá D. C. and its area of influence, which is used to define the main characteristics that determine the behavior of a particular industry, starting from the measured grade of dependence of the cluster, according the economic growth of businesses associated with it, their level of employability and economic prosperity. The items found in the investigation, starting from the identification of Bogotá, as a region vital to the country’s development and how this city qualifies as central to host and develop world-class companies, which directly compete with other regions or nations under the same standards. The article also makes an approach to the cluster concept, where the variables of competitiveness and productivity are explored tangentially; these variables are two structural dimensions to assess how companies stimulate the country´s economic growth. |
