Summary: | In the first place, a percentage distribution was developed to identify the most problematic oil fields in terms of sanding, keeping in mind the group of fields analyzed by the previously mentioned authors. Afterwards, the four new technologies were described according to their operation, benefits and successful implementations around the world. Subsequently, a decision matrix was developed to compare the new technologies to the conventional ones in terms of uniformity coefficients and ranges of grain size from reservoirs where these technologies were implemented previously. This matrix facilitated the incorporation of the four new technologies to the application. Lastly, these new technologies were included in the General Manual of Wells Completion (MGCP) by using PHP computer language. The development of this thesis permitted the extension of the range of possible solutions to sanding which can be implemented according to the specific case the user has to confront to mitigate this problem. |
