| Summary: | Quality management systems have been present in Colombia since 1963, the year in which the Colombian Institute of Technical Standards (ICONTEC) was created, over the years, decrees and laws have been published that have had an impact on quality management, and in those years 4 revisions to the ISO 9001 standard have been made, the last one being in 2015. The implementation of QMS gives companies different benefits and even in some cases negative aspects like the cultural impact generated in the organization. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the impact that a certification under ISO 9001 could bring to organizations in the country based on different studies cases where it was implemented. |
