Summary:This research began in the interest of the physical-chemical characteristics evaluated and potential biogas generation of waste sludges obtained by a WWTP, this study was conducted through the process of anaerobic digestion in two continuous stirred tank reactors (CSTR) of 20L, with the objective of using this raw material as renewable energy. Initially, a bibliographic review was carried out in order to obtain operating conditions such as mesophilic temperature at 39 ° C, agitation of 90rpm, pH in a range of 6.2-8.0, among others, which would be fixed throughout the process, Then, the reactors were fed with a mixture of macro and micronutrients that would help to increase the production of biogas and the parameters that directly influence this were evaluated, such as total solids, volatile solids, COD, nitrites, phosphorus, retention and OCD.
