Description
Summary:The objective of this project is the analysis of three new technologies to control the circulation losses that occur during the drilling of new wells in Campo Castilla, specifically in Cluster 94, of the most important operator in Colombia, Ecopetrol S.A. In order to determine the viability of the technologies in solving the problem, the technical and financial evaluation of each of the new alternatives was carried out, comparing them with the conventional practices of the operating company. The methodology used for this purpose was the evaluation through simulations and laboratory tests that demonstrated the efficiency of new technologies in solving the problem of circulation loss. The results show a clear decrease in the volumes of fluid lost, in the non-productive times and in the times of operation. In addition, they showed high economic viability for their implementation, since when evaluated with the financial indicator of cost / benefit, the proposed alternatives yielded values of high profitability, greater than 1. Thanks to the results, it is essential that the company make use of these technologies and put them into practice in pilot projects, which allow reducing the gap between theory and reality. The success of the application of these technologies can be generalized to other fields and even to other companies to mitigate one of the latent problems in most of the mature fields of Colombia and the world.
