Methodology: the analysis adopts two perspectives: discourse semiotics proposed by Courtes and Greimas and passionate semiotics by Fontanille.Results: the study sets out how the different political practices and the State intervention, in relation to the social conflicts of indigenous ethnic groups, encourage a Wayuu student to appropriate the dominant language in Colombia (Spanish). Conclusions: in this manner, the need for college education is encouraged to defend the rights of this community.Introducción: el presente artículo hace parte de la línea investigativa Prácticas Educativas del grupo de investigación Cultura y narrativa colombiana (cuynaco). Su objetivo es determinar cómo los conflictos sociales y afectivos manifiestan, en el discurso de una alumna indígena wayuu, motivos para querer hablar español como segunda lengua. Metodología: El análisis acoge una perspectiva semiótica del discurso y pasional propuesta por Courtés (1997), Greimas (1990) y Fontanille (2001-2003). Resultados: El estudio analiza cómo las diferentes prácticas políticas, en relación con los conflictos sociales de las etnias indígenas, incentiva a una estudiante wayuu para querer apropiarse de la lengua mayoritaria (el español). Conclusiones: Se establece que las actitudes de rechazo o aceptación frente al uso de una lengua que no es la nativa, están supeditadas a las experiencias de vida del hablante, a sus intereses y a su relación con los procesos educativos, interculturales y sociales.Introdução: este artigo faz parte da linha de investigação “Práticas Educativas” do grupo de investigação Cultura e Narrativa Colombiana (cuynaco). O seu escopo é determinar a forma em que os conflitos sociais e afetivos manifestam, no discurso de uma aluna indígena wayuu, os motivos para querer falar espanhol como língua. Metodologia: a analise reúne duas perspectivas: a semiótica do discurso proposta por Courtés e Greimas e a semiótica passional de Fontanille. Resultados: o estudo estabelece como as diferentes práticas políticas e a intervenção do Estado, no que tange os conflitos sociais das etnias indígenas, estimulam a uma estudante wayuu a querer se apropriar da língua maioritária na Colômbia (o espanhol).
