Neerja Bhatla

Neerja Bhatla is an Indian gynecologist and obstetrician. She was honored with the Padma Shri in 2025, one of India's highest civilian awards, recognizing her work in advancing women's healthcare. She is the first Indian doctor to become the president of the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), and she led the 2018 revision of FIGO staging for cervical cancer.
